Mike designed most of the analogue circuitry in TIís first CMOS Token-Ring PHY. The key analogue circuits consisted of a low-jitter PLL, receiver with equalization to compensate for inter-symbol interference, phantom-drivers, crystal oscillator, bias generators and a multi-stage power-on-reset circuit.

 

This device was publicly available in volume in standalone form and was later combined with the Token-Ring MAC to produce a single-chip Token-Ring solution.
